Last week in Room 13 we read the book 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' by Ronda and David Armitage and then we looked at pulley systems.  Our challenge for the week was to create our own ziplines to carry things from place to another.  First we had to decide if we were going to work on our own or a buddy before we made a plan of our zipline.

After we had planned out our design we got to build them.

Then we tested them out to see if our designs worked.

Year 6 STEM Challenge

Unfortunately due to bad weather, the Year 6 trip to Oriental Bay was cancelled today.  Instead, we all got to do a STEM challenge which was to make a small ship and see if if could float.  Here are some of our wonderful designs.

Thank you cards

The students of Room 3 are very thoughtful.  They made cards to present to some staff members to show their appreciation of how much hard work they do at our school.  Here are a few of them...

Outdoor Classroom Day

Room 2 had such a nice afternoon celebrating 'Outdoor Classroom Day' with Room 9 yesterday. We did a nature treasure hunt and leaf rubbings. Thanks, Room 9 and Miss Olney for organising it!
