Room 14's Sunsets

This term Room 14 made some beautiful sunsets and then had a go at writing some similes about their pictures.

My sunset is like fire crackers in the night.

My sunset is like a butterfly.

My sunset is as cute as a dog with a bow.

My sunset is as shiny as a sun.

My sunset is like a colourful flower.

My sunset is like a rainbow.

My sunset is as beautiful as a rainbow.

My sunset is as adventurous as a kitten.

My sunset is shining like a sun.

My sunset is like the colourful crayons.

My sunset is as soft as a cute panda.

My sunset is like a gem in a crown.

My sunset is like a blooming flower.

My sunset is colourful like a rainbow.

My sunset is as hard as a pizza.

My sunset is like a fire.

My sunset is as cute as a penguin

My sunset is as bright as a light.

My sunset is bright like a banana.

My sunset is as colourful as a tree.

Earth Hour in Room 5

For Earth Hour this year we tried not to use any electricity or electronic devices.  Then we went outside and picked up any rubbish we could find.  There was quite a lot!  We discussed ways to protect the planet and thought of how we could encourage others to do the same.  In the afternoon, we made posters, puppet shows and slide shows to educate people about looking after our planet.

We've got the whole world in our hands

This week in Room 8 we have been learning about Earth Hour and how we can help to save the planet.  We had lots of ideas and we wrote some awesome stories.  Our artwork was called "We've got the whole world in our hands" and it helped us to remember that we all need to work together to save our planet and resources.

Earth Hour in Room 1

In Room 1 for Earth Hour, we switched off all the lights (the room became dark and now we know why Room 1 is sometimes called the cave.  Having clouds covering the sky did not help) and all the digital devices.  We made stamps related to Earth Hour and saving the planet.

Thanks to Angie from Treasuring Hearts Photography

Room 1 are teaching Room 5

This morning Room 1 discovered a new app, Book Creator for Chrome.  By writing a book on Teamwork they learnt how to insert photos or movies and add audio.

This afternoon they helped Room 5 write a short story on Book Creator and taught them how to do all of the skills they learnt this morning.

Brilliant teamwork and cooperative learning Rooms 1 and 5.

Sea Week in Room 9

Room 9 enjoyed celebrating Sea Week.
We were dressed up as sharks, jellyfish, mermaids, pirates and more.
Our class raised $16 to go to the Sustainable Coastlines.

Room 3 Pedal Ready

Today Room 3 completed Course 1 of Pedal Ready Cycle Training.  Rhonda and her team of professionals joined us today to teach us about basic bike and helmet safety.  We played lots of games on our bikes and learnt how to signal correctly when travelling on a road.  We really enjoyed the course and look forward to further developing our cycling skills.
