Grandparents Day

Room 3 were happy to have grandparents visit our room on Tuesday.  We had lots of 'adoptions' going on with several students adopting a grandparent for the morning.  The grandparents were blown away by the different strategies the kids knew and enjoyed playing some of the games on Maths Buddy.

Digital Technology In Room Five

Today we were working on computational thinking.  We have been reading myths and legends.  One of these was How Māui Slowed The Sun.  R2-D2 wanted to help Māui by collecting harakeke and taking it to Te Rā.  Because R2-D2 is a robot, he needed us to give him a specific set of instructions (an algorithm).

We wrote an algorithm as a class and then we all had a go at writing our own algorithms.

Then we tested and debugged our algorithms.

Finally, success!

Lion King

Today the Senior Syndicate went to watch the performance of "The Lion King" which starred our very own Amelie and Sofie.  We were amazed by the colourful costumes and awesome singing by the wonderful cast of the show.  Amelie and Sofie were incredible to watch, as was the whole cast and we had a great time!
